许多人并不知道“何传俊”这个名字，就像另外的许多人不知道“郭熙煌”和“周红兵”一样。我们关于大学英语的记忆是分裂的，因此写这一篇《绅士风度》，作为《大英往事》的补充。
“后陶涛时代”的大学英语，基本上很平淡，因为何老师并不热衷搞“英语剧”之类的活动。唯一与课文无关的，就是放过几次电影，一部《风流俏佳人》，一部《人鬼情未了》，还有一部憨豆先生的电影。
在2006年6月底，新编大英的论坛里突然热闹起来。何传俊在课上表示，希望大家给他提出意见和建议，于是好多人在网上给他发帖留言，他本人也一一回复。在这一问一答里，我们可以解读出许多信息。
何传俊和陶涛之间教学风格的比较是一个热门话题。有人用“焕然一新”来形容何传俊的到来，还有人说何氏风格使他“受益良多”。多半是表扬何传俊的，当然也没有人批评陶涛。
何氏风格有不少拥趸。刘珍在帖子中说：
说心里话，开始有一点怕您，加上我们对陶老师很舍不得，就觉得你是一个难以亲近的人，但现在不了，慢慢的相处让我觉得你是一个很细心的人，课后会考虑我们的想法，以后要能再人性化一点就更好了。
张燎说得更为详细：
这个学期与上个学期的教学有很大不同。在课堂上您的提问比上学期的有所增加，使得我们在课堂上注意力更加集中。在思想上您给我们灌输了新的理念，比如说讲一些外国的文化、人文等等。对课文的讲解更加深刻和细致。每周的作文使我们更加的充实。作文的讲解让我们更加的得心应手。对四六级的看法让我们更接近它。
还有一些是希望得到何老师的帮助和指导，何传俊的答复恰到好处。略举一例：

I'm glad to communicate with you on the Internet. To be honest, I'm not a good student, although I can finish the assignments you give us each time. I'm good at listening and reading, but I have no confidence when speak of oral English. In your class, I dare not to express my opinion in English. It's my problem of learning English.
Then I'll say something about you. I appreciate your teaching style when you describe something you often use body language to help us understand it. In addition, in your class I learned many new English words and many words I've forgotten. In the end of this term, my writing skills have improved a lot, thanks for your help.
Finally, I'll give you some advice about your class. I expect your class more interesting and we have more opportunity to improve our oral English.

I am glad you have get some benefit from my teaching, and I also appreciate your suggestion for my teaching.
You mentioned that you dared not to express yourself in English class. Yes, this may hinder you in the participation of different activities and gives your much psychological burden. Confidence and bravery will be the best medicine to your problem.

至于我自己对于何传俊的评价，可引述我在他离开05物理之后我写他的一封信，中间说：
据说1月15日最后一次课上，你已经宣布了你要离开湖大的消息。很抱歉，那天我没有到场。当“权威人士”确认了这个消息的时候，我觉得很遗憾。仿佛是一条平直的铁轨被拦腰截断，你的离开使得你和我们这短暂的相遇突然终结，怎能不令人遗憾呢？
坦率地说，我个人不太喜欢你的教学风格，相比之下，我觉得你似乎严厉了一些。但正如我跟许多人所说的，我非常钦佩你的敬业精神。有人曾告诉我大学英语老师最怕批改作文，而你却要求我们每周一篇，这个一直以来被忽略的事实，让我十分感动。
大学里学习是个人的事，老师能发挥的作用实际上是很有限的。许多时候，我也看到了你在大学讲台上的孤独，然而你仍旧那样勤奋地工作。也许换个工作环境和生活环境对你是件很好的事，不管怎么说，一路走好。
